We’re back and looking forward to making some wonderful music as part of the Christmas season. We’re pleased to welcome our new music director, Brian Turnbull, to lead the practices with our little ones in preparation for singing during the 4 p.m. carol service on Dec. 17th and the children’s Christmas pageant on Dec. 24th. We’ll be rehearsing downstairs after Sunday worship from 11:15 to 11:45. All kids are welcome to come sing with us! Please contact Brian Turnbull, Duncan Low or Dawn Robinson for more information.

Knox’s Bibles, Books & Bites group is kicking off 2017. Contact Amy MacLachlan if you’re a Knox woman—either young or young-at-heart!—and would like to join us for our weekly meetings of fun and fellowship (and a little book discussion, too!). We’ll be reading the book No More Faking Fine by Esther Fleece. Copies are available at Good Books (588 Kerr St.)
Also, we’ll be meeting on a new night! Meetings will be on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. We share hosting and leading duties each week. Come out and be challenged, supported and uplifted!
The Women and the Word Bible Study (a group of 25-30 welcoming women) will resume Tuesday, January 10th at 10 a.m.. We will be doing three study sessions this winter/spring period, beginning with scriptural studies of lesser-known women of the Bible: Anna, Miriam, the Queen of Sheba, Esther, Abigail, and Dorcas Then, for Lent, we will follow Christ as he journeys toward the cross and resurrection as recorded in selections from Mark’s gospel (Chapters 9-16). Following that, we will be looking at selections of Psalms with worship in mind. All of the studies are meant to be reflective, often challenging, and encouraging, so that we all grow as disciples in Christ. For more info call Sue Thacker 905-842-3872.
This fall, we are embarking on a story-telling adventure through the Bible. From September to the end of May, we’re going to attempt to capture the over-arching narrative of God and Humanity’s story: From creation, to fall, to call, to exodus, to wilderness, to waiting, to Saviour, to Spirit, to the start of the Christian church, to…. today. To us.
We’ve officially launched our new Tweens/Youth program “ECHO the story”!
We meet every Sunday during the 9 a.m. service where we will begin our trek through the entire Bible. We encourage all kids grade 4 and up to join in and bring their friends.
So what is “ECHO the story” all about?
It’s a youth program that we have tailored to meet the need of our current Knox group. You can learn more at wearesparkhouse.org or talk to Janice McKay or Karen Glass.
