It’s the time of year when Knox once again shows our generous spirit by contributing mightily to Kerr Street Ministries’ Christmas Wonders program for families living below the poverty line right here in Oakville. We are a big part of providing Christmas for these families. Starting on Sunday, Nov. 26th, there will be a table at which you can make donations, so prayerfully consider a generous gift!
A heartfelt congratulations and thank you to the Tweens and the congregation! Together we raised $210 at the bake table. These funds will allow the Musa children to enjoy special nutritious school lunches this year. If you missed this event, but would like to help the Tweens on their faith journey, please keep an eye out for their next Outreach activity.
This summer, incredible numbers of people discovered our magnificent church as we opened our doors for downtown Oakville events. We’re opening our doors to our Oakville community once again on Saturday, Sept. 30th from 10 a.-m. to 4 p.m. as part of Doors Open Halton. People will be invited to visit our sanctuary and to find out more about what we do here at Knox.
On Saturday, August 19th Knox held a Doors Open and Holy Hot Dog event for the community. We once again handed out hot dogs and water and opened our building during the one day event. Thank you so much to all the volunteers who helped hand out hot dogs, greet people in our community, or helped minimize our environmental impact!

On June 3rd, the Lighthouse for Grieving Children (an amazing organization supporting children and families coping with the loss of a loved one) will be holding its annual fundraiser in Oakville. We’ve already got several people interested in participating, and we’d love to have more! Let’s get a large Knox team together to support this much-needed ministry, and bond as a congregation at the same time! The special event features a 5K run and walk, as well as a 1K fun-run, and a 100 M dash, so there’s something for everyone (kids are welcome, too)!
Please speak with Amy MacLachlan if you’re interested, or, to learn more, visit the Lighthouse website grievingchildrenlighthouse.org.
