When I left on this journey, I really had no idea of the experiences I was about to have. All through the country, we were welcomed with genuine openness, interest and caring. To witness the work being done in the lay training centres, training men and women to spread the word of God in a country with many congregations and far too few ministers, I could easily see the need for continued support through Presbyterians Sharing.
The experience of the Gambaga Go Home Project and the Community Based Rehabilitation Program was both horrific and heartfelt, yet filled with hope as these programs through the support of Presbyterian World Service and Development are giving people their lives back, not only helping the individuals but improving the communities where they live.
I have seen the Grace of God at work in so many ways and I am thankful for the opportunity to join in this mission
