During the month of September, the Chancel Choir will be holding welcoming practices to encourage new members to join our choir. During the welcoming practice, you will be paired with an existing member who will show you the ropes, and time will be provided so you can become familiar with the music and the flow of the practice. The anthems and introits chosen for September are mostly sung in unison, which means everyone sings the same tune. The first practice is Wednesday, September 5th at 7:30 p.m. to prepare for Rally Sunday. On September 12th, the practice begins at 8 p.m. following Dinner Church. Please speak to Brian Turnbull or any member of the choir and we will have a folder ready for you. This is a great time to join us—our aim is the fill the chancel this year.
This 13-week recovery support group is a way to seek solace and healing after the death of a loved one. The next series begins on Wednesday, September 12th, and will run weekly until December 5th. You can join the program at any point. This time the series will be hosted at ClearView Church (2300 Sheridan Garden Dr., Oakville)
This fall our intrepid choir director, Brian Turnbull, will be starting up a children’s choir to sing on special Sundays. Our own Knox kids are welcome, but so are their friends from the wider community. Practices will begin on Sept. 12th, and will run Wednesdays from 4:30-5:15 p.m. with a snack afterward. The choir is geared toward kids from kindergarten to grade 6, but children a little older or a little younger are welcome as well. We look forward to hearing your beautiful voices!
Compassion fatigue can affect any caregiver, and can cause spiritual, emotional and physical exhaustion. On Saturday, September 22nd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., join us for a seminar on this important topic, led by Karen Hill, a certified compassion fatigue educator and therapist. Lunch will be provided. Please sign up on the sheet on the doors of the church hall.
