In December the kids will be starting each service upstairs in the sanctuary, so they can enjoy the pre-service recitals, participate in the lighting of the Advent wreath, and occasionally sing with or listen to the Knox4Us choir. They’ll be dismissed to go downstairs for their children’s program. Parents are invited to come downstairs and find their kids once worship is done.
At the congregational meeting after our worship service last Sunday, members chose eight people to join the session. We’re so grateful we had such an amazing ballot of names to choose from; every person whose name appeared on the ballot is incredibly gifted by God, and we’re grateful they agreed to let their names stand as nominees to the eldership. Here are the names of those chosen to serve this term. Our next eldership election will be at the end of 2020.
The Oakville Santa Claus Parade will be rolling past our doors on the morning of November 17th. We invite you to come watch it together on the church lawn, and enjoy some fair trade hot chocolate. We’ll have our doors open for the occasion, so in addition to warming up with some hot beverages, you’l be able to duck into the sanctuary or use the bathrooms as needed.
Calling all kids Grades 4 and up! We’ll be holding a fun evening of crafting and card making on November 9th from 7 to 9 p.m. The beautiful creations will be sold at the Treats and Treasures sale. Materials and snacks will be provided. Parents, you’re welcome to stay for the evening or just drop your kids off—it’s up to you. Please speak with Monika Platt if you’d like more details.
