“Pentecost” | Rev. Jacqui Foxall

Listen to these lessons on this Pentecost Sunday May 19th, 2024 as The Rev. Jacqui as she discusses the birth of the church and why the church does not spend more time on it. Maybe it is becuause it is loud and it is confusing and is disorienting and it is demanding. One of Rev. Jacqui’s favourite reference to Pentcost is by Rev. Nadia Bolz-Weber describes the holy-spirit, as having terrible boundaries. She continues teaching on John’s writings in the book of 1 Corinthians 12:1-13, on our spirtual Gifts. And tells us that Pentcost demands something of us, the manifestation of the spirit used for the common good and we are all going to look different, so we should all get use to it and the mess is the church. The church is not a building , the church is it’s people.
Associated Scripture: Acts 2:1-4 (The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost) & 1 Corinthians 12:1-13 (Concerning Spiritual Gifts)
