One of the most intimate post-resurrection interactions happened between Peter and Jesus after breakfast, across a charcoal fire, after a long night of fishing. In three simple questions Jesus offers his friend the opportunity to make amends for the denials he had made less than 2 weeks prior. In response to his recommitment to Jesus, the Lord gives Peter action to take: Tend my Sheep. Our profession of faith has always been directly tied to action, to living out our love for Christ in our care for others. How does the hymn go? They’ll know we are Christians by our… love.
